1977 Highlights

Early in 1977, Petty took the checkered flag at the Carolina 500. Taking his second straight victory at the Atlanta 500, Petty's hot pace led the final 45 laps. Richard ran away with the World 600 at Charlotte and the NAPA 400 at Riverside, California in back to back races. After a grueling season of racing, Petty posted 5 wins, 20 top fives, and 23 top ten finishes.
