Sauropelta (Painting by Ely Kish)

Two nodosaurs (Sauropelta) browse beside a shallow sea, in the North American interior. The vegetation links conifers to flowering plants and is restored after Welwitschia (a bizarre plant, with straplike leaves, peculiar to south-western Africa) and Gnetum (a small bush, abundant only in the US southwest.)
