The slave kids aboard the Jolly Roger ask Maggie what a "mother" is, since they've heard her say the word. Surprised, she tells them that mothers are great: they feed you, kiss you, play with you...even sing songs to you. This jogs one of the slave kid's memories. "Wait!" They're not songs...they're ...lullabies."
