AMT PP015 Weekend Wrenchin' Garage Set

This great little figure and accessory set by AMT is a faithful reproduction of the clothing and items of the typical American Garage from the 1950's - 1980's and is the perfect accessory point to your 1/25th scale model car dioramas.

Large full color decals let you decorate your Garage with large signs, oily patches, caution signs and more. 

These figures are used in conjunction with AMT's awesome Garage Accessory kits and go together easily and look fantastic once finished. 

The first item we will look at is the shelving unit. This great piece consists of two racks and 5 shelves. The spacing between shelves is set, but should provide ample room to display spare model car batteries, oil cans, air filters and other standard automotive maintenance parts. These shelves also make a good home for some of those old AMT Trophy Series model car accessories like the reel-to-reel tape recorder from the 1963 Ford Galaxie, the little "Stuffed Animals" and, of course, the trophies. - This kit also includes 2 hats and a tiny Model A Ford Hot Rod that could also make an appearance on this shelving unit. 

The Weekend Wrenchin' Garage Scenes Diorama set also includes a great 8 piece Oxy/Acetylene welding set with two 2-piece tanks, gas pressure gauges, hose and torch and a fitted dolly cart to transport the rig around the shop. The tanks have the correct warning labels included on the decal sheet. The only missing item is the small chain needed to secure the tanks to the cart which you could source from a jewelry store. 

You get a beautifully crafted set of tool boxes, an upper and a lower, which look accurate to what you would find at your local automotive supplier. The smaller upper box consists of an open top, two side panels with outer handles and inner shelf rails, and five shelves which you can pull out to display your tools. The lower six piece cabinet does not feature opening drawers, but looks great when built. Caster style wheels are molded to the bottom panel for a realistic look. Sponsorship decals are used to dress up the sides. 

As for tools, there is a parts tree with two screwdrivers, three wrenches, a hack saw, a rubber mallet, a ball-pen hammer, tire iron, pliers and a shop creeper. Most of the tools can fit into the drawers of the top tool box, or be left around the shop for added realism. 

Two 3-piece saw horses are included which you could use to place items such as spare fenders, doors and hoods onto in case you are building a car restoration project for your garage diorama scene. 

This kit includes one standing mechanic figure. He consists of separate legs, torso, four arms in various poses (2 left, 2 right) a head and a choice of a baseball cap or a cowboy hat. You can find name tags for your figures on the decal sheet which include Brett, Jeff, Alan, Dave, Papa and Blake.
