After the second Japanese Grand Prix in 1964, Toyota began development of the high performance Gran Turismo with the cooperation of Yamaha Motor Co. The prototype was unveiled at the 1965 Tokyo Motor Show and went on sale in May 1967. It was the MF 10 Toyota 2000GT. It had an X shaped backbone frame under the extremely low coupe body design in house, 2000cc inline 6-Cylinder DOHC engine. 4-Wheel independent suspension with double wishbone/coil, 4-Wheel disc brakes, and 4-Wheel magnesium aloy wheels. It boasted a top speed of 220km/h. acceleration from0-400m in 15.9 seconds, and acceleration from 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds.

This kit represents the late model Toyota 2000GT in the catalog specifications. The window frames, light housings and mufflers are beautifully finished in glossy plating, and the indicator lenses and tail lights are color coded and molded. Beautiful finish can be achieved while eliminating difficult painting work.
